Sonny Tan

Sonny Tan, Senior Project Director – Technical, is an accomplished professional boasting over three decades in real estate development, architectural design, and complex project deliveries. With a focus on large-scale, mixed-use developments and retail-centric projects, Sonny has etched an indelible mark on the industry. 

Relocating to the UAE in 2005, he has held pivotal positions such as Chief Architect for the iconic Dubai Mall and Vice President of Architecture & Capital Projects at Emaar Properties/Malls. In 2009, Sonny spearheaded the Development arm of Saudi-listed company MMG, operating as Amoxil Development LLC in the UAE. 

In November 2011, Sonny founded Funtastic Engineering Consultancy and Facilities/Management Services LLCs, serving as the company's Managing Director. The consultancy quickly extended its high-level services to a broad clientele, substantiating Sonny's leadership acumen. 

Sonny's expertise encompasses Architecture and Building Design, Development and Project Management, and Retail Design and Fit-out Management. Among his key projects are lauded initiatives like the Abu Dhabi Airport Midfield Project, where he was awarded for Retail Design & Delivery, City Walk in Dubai, and The Dubai Mall, among others.
